Australia defeated Pakistan by 86 runs in the fourth ODI at Sydney to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. Batting first, the Aussies posted 353 for 6 and then kept Pakistan down to 267. Here are some interesting stats from the match.

David Warner’s 130 from 119 balls was his fifth ODI hundred in his last ten ODIs. In these 10 games, he has smashed 783 runs at an average of 78.30. Only six times before have more runs been scored in 10 consecutive innings. Warner himself made 839 runs at an average of 83.90 in a run of 10 innings in 2016.

Warner’s hundred on Sunday was his sixth at Sydney. This is the second-most by any batsman. Former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting made eight at the venue while Greg Chappell and Matthew Hayden made five. Warner has smashed six hundreds in merely 24 innings at SCG. Ponting, Chappell and Hayden needed 69, 47 and 38 innings respectively.

Warner’s five ODI hundreds in a season are the equal most by an Australian. In the 2006-07, Hayden hit five hundreds in 25 ODIs.

Australian opener Warner has reached 12 ODI hundreds in 90 innings. He is the third fastest to reach 12 ODI tons. Hashim Amla got there quickest in 81 innings, and Virat Kohli in 83 innings.

Pakistani fast bowler Junaid Khan gave away 82 runs in the match. This is the most any Pakistan bowler has conceded in ODIs in Australia. Also, Mohammad Amir gave away 75 runs. This is now his most expensive figures in ODIs, and the fifth-highest by a Pakistan bowler in Australia.

Australia’s 353 for 6 on Sunday is now their highest total against Pakistan in ODIs. Their previous best was 337/7 at this very venue in 1999-00. It was the sixth occasion Australia have scored 350 plus ODIs at home. Four of those instances have come at the SCG.

Hasan Ali took 5 for 52 in the match, his career best. This was the third instance of a visiting bowler claiming a five-for against Australia at Sydney. West Indian Curtly Ambrose was the last bowler to achieve the feat, way back in 1993, when he took 5 for 32. Michael Holding and Richard Hadlee are the other bowlers to have taken five-wicket against Australia at this venue.

Glenn Maxwell scored at a sensational strike rate of 177.27 during his blistering innings of 78. This was the fifth instance of him scoring a fifty at a strike rate in excess of 175.

Pakistan opener Sharjeel Khan has had an interesting series, with his numbers getting better with each game. He started the series with 18, and went on to make 29, 50 and 74 in the next three matches.

Pakistan’s number three Babar Azam has been dismissed in the 30s three out of four times in the series. His scores in the series have been 33, 34 84 and now 31.
