Chennai Super Kings registered the highest total in the Champions League T20 till date by notching up 242 for 6 in their Group A game against Dolphins at the Chinnnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Here’s a look at the highest totals in the CLT20.

Chennai Super Kings (242 for 6): The former IPL champs smashed 242 for 6 against Dolphins on Monday. Batting first, Chennai were led with the bat by Suresh Raina, who blasted 90 from merely 43 balls with the aid of four fours and eight sixes. Brendon McCullum chipped in with 49 from 29 balls (five fours and three sixes) while Ravindra Jadeja finished off things with an unbeaten 40 from only 14 balls with three fours and three sixes. Chennai went on to win the match by an impressive 54-run margin.

Northern Districts (206 for 5): Northern Districts smashed 206 for 5 against Cape Cobras at Raipur on September 19, 2014. Batting first, Northern Districts were aided by a splendid opening partnership by Anton Devcich and Kane Williamson, who added 140 for the opening wicket in under 14 overs. Devcich made 67 from 48 balls with eight fours and one six before he was run out. Williamson, on the other hand, went on to remain unbeaten on 101 from 49 balls, a knock that featured eight fours and five sixes BJ Watling chipped in with 32 from 20 balls. Following rain, the Cobras were left to chase 78 from 7.2 overs. They mananged only 44 for 2.

Dolphins (188): The Dolphins made 188 in the same game that Chennai smashed 242 for 6. Chasing a massive score, the Dolphins were never in the hunt in spite of maintaining an impressive run-rate throughout. Cody Chetty top-scored for the team with 38 from 23 balls with three fours and two sixes. Cameron Delport smashed an unbelievable 34 from 9 balls with five fours and two sixes, but his dismissal turned the tide completely in Chennai’s favour. Vaughn van Jaarsveld chipped in with 30 from 22 deliveries. Eventually, the Dolphins were cleaned up for 188 as Mohit Sharma claimed four wickets.

Hobart Hurricanes (186 for 4): The Hurricanes made 186 chasing Cape Cobras’ 184 at Hyderabad on September 21, 2014. The chase was led by Aiden Blizzard, who blasted an unbeaten 78 from 48 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes. Blizzard was lucky as he was out off Vernon Philander’s bowling, but it turned out to be a no-ball. The game-changing over cost Philander 24 runs, and Hurricanes went on to stun the Cobras. Opener Ben Dunk contributed 54 from 35 balls with 10 fours earlier in the innings.

Cape Cobras (184 for 6): This was the same game in which they went down to the Hurricanes. Batting first, the Cobras put up an impressive batting display. Opener Richard Levi made 42 from 30 balls (six fours and one six), and towards the end of the innings, Philander blasted an unbeaten 32 from 14 balls with five fours and a six. Unfortunately, Philander ended up as the villain with the ball in the match.
