Mumbai Indians have qualified for the playoffs of IPL 7 out of nowhere! Their campaign started off on a dismal note in the UAE and they needed to chase 190 runs in just 14.3 overs to seal the fourth spot for the play offs.
Corey J Anderson proved his money worth by single handedly achieving the task with a sensational knock of 95 not out from just 44 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. AT Rayudu played an important role towards the end scoring 30 from just 10 balls. Under pressure, Aditya Tare heaved a six off a Faulkner full toss to take Mumbai Indians to victory in 14.4 overs.
Confusion was all around the Wankhede Stadium when the scores were tied with Rayudu getting run out trying to take the winning second run. The equation changed again with Mumbai Indians needing a boundary in one ball to qualify after the scores were tied. James Faulkner spoilt the show bowling two leg stump full tosses conceded two sixes in the final over.

The homeside’s task is cut out and looks quite improbable as they need to get 190 runs in just 14.3 overs to qualify for the play-offs ahead of the Rajasthan Royals!
The Rajasthan Royals asked to bat first were going at a slow pace and out of nowhere young guns Sanju Samson and Karun Nair changed gears to take the match away from Mumbai Indians. Samson who opened the innings with Skipper Watson went onto score a magnificent 74 from 47 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Karun Nair blazed away to 50 from 27 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
The experienced finishers – Brad Hodge with 29 not out from 16 balls and James Faulkner with 23 from 12 balls lived to their reputation to take Rajasthan Royals to 189 for 4.
