Here’s a look at the top ten run-getters in one-dayers in women’s cricket.

Charlotte Edwards: An elegant right-handed batswomen, current England skipper Edwards made her debut in 1997 as a 17-year-old. Since then, she had been a key member of the English outfit and, at present, is among the most experienced cricketers in the world. The 33-year-old veteran has so far featured in 162 ODIs and has amassed 4901 runs at an average of nearly 37. Edwards’ figures include seven hundreds and 37 fifties with a highest of 173 not out.

Belinda Clarke: The former Aussie captain is considered among the greatest batswomen to have graced the game. Making her ODI debut in 1991, Clarke featured in 118 games during which she scored 4844 runs, averaging over 47. Her stats include five tons and 30 half-centuries. Most significantly, she holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs -- 229 not out, a score which she registered in 1997, and is yet to be surpassed even in the men’s game.

Karen Rolton: Another Aussie, and a legend of the game herself. The left-handed bat made her debut in 1995 and went on to play 141 matches for her country during which he garnered 4814 runs at an average of 48. She scored eight hundreds and 33 fifties with a highest of 154 not out, before retiring in 2009.

Mithali Raj: The Indian skipper is fourth on the list of top run-getters. Making her debut in 1999 as a highly rated talent, Raj has lived up to her potential. In 143 games till date, she has notched up 4499 runs, averaging nearly 48. Her figures include three hundreds and 36 fifties with a highest of 114 not out.

Claire Taylor: At number five is a former English wicket-keeper and right hand batswomen. Taylor made her ODI debut in 1998 and featured in 126 ODIs during which she scored 4101 runs, averaging just over 40. During a celebrated career, she registered eight tons and 23 fifties with a highest score of 156 not out. The 37-year-old played her last ODI in 2011.

Other top scorers in women’s one-day cricket

Debbie Hockley of New Zealand played 118 ODIs and scored 4064 runs at an average of 42. During her career she registered four hundreds and 34 fifties.

New Zealand’s Haidee Tiffenfeatured in 117 matches in which she scored 2919 runs at an average of 31. She made a solitary hundred and 18 half-centuries.

Veteran Indian Anjum Chopra played in 127 matches during which she gathered 2856 runs at an average of 31. Chopra registered one hundred and 18 fifties.

Kiwi Emily Drumm turned out in 101 matches and scored 2844 runs, averaging 35. She has two hundreds and 19 fifties to her credit.

Australia’s Lisa Sthalekar completes the list of top ten run-getters. In 120 ODIs, she has so far managed 2661 runs, averaging 31. Sthalekar presently has two tons and 16 fifties to her name.
