Markram was out off 22 off 17, miscuing a big hit off Green to deep midwicket. Heinrich Klaasen scored a brisk 36 off 16. He went after Piyush Chawla, but also fell to the leg-spinner. Agarwal (48 off 41) never got going and hit a full toss from Riley Meredith to a fielder to be dismissed. In the end, SRH were all out as Bhuvneshwar Kumar was out for 2, giving Arjun Tendulkar his first IPL wicket.

Speaking after winning the game, MI skipper Rohit Sharma said, “I have got lot of memories here (in Hyderabad). I played three years here. Won a trophy as well. Love coming back here.”

On the youngster and his batting role, he added, “To settle them (youngsters) in is important for us. We had a couple of guys who hadn't played IPL before. We had to back them. They are coming into their own. I am enjoying what I am doing (with the bat). It is a different role. I am trying to set the tempo. Glad to get some scores in the powerplay. I understand one of us has to bat big. We have a long batting line-up. We want these guys to come out and bat freely.”
