News and Live Ball by Ball Scores Update of New Zealand Vs South Africa, 2nd ODI at McLean Park, Napier

Hosts New Zealand have been bowled out for a modest total of 230 in 47.3 overs in the Second ODI at the McLean Park in Napier. It was a dramatic collapse from the hosts as they were strongly placed at 163 for 3 in the 33rd over before losing their last 7 wickets for just another 67 runs in the remainder of their innings. This was after South Africa had won the toss and asked the homeside to bat first.

Tall fast bowler Morne Morkel found himself twice on a hat-trick but couldn’t clinch it. However, the 27-year-old Morne claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs. Morne Morkel produced figures of 9.3-1-38-5. Left arm seamer Lonwabo Tsotsobe took 3 for 43 in 10 overs while Dale Steyn took 1 for 37 in his 10 overs.

The New Zealand innings saw a bright 107-run stand for the 2nd wicket between opener Martin Guptill (58 from 73 balls with 8 fours) and Skipper Brendon McCullum who top scored in the innings with 85 (from 96 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes). The rest of the batsmen failed to contribute anything significant for the Black Caps.
