Although India are favourites to win the Asia Cup 2018 final, in-form opener Shikhar Dhawan has warned the team against taking Bangladesh lightly. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 37 runs in thee last Super Four game to book their place in the final.

“We cannot take them lightly because Pakistan is a bigger name but Bangladesh got the better of them,” Dhawan was quoted as saying in an ICC report.

“There is a big difference between a team on paper and players playing on the ground. So, the team which plays better on the field, they are regarded as the bigger team,” Dhawan added.

Dhawan went on to admit that Bangladesh have been a much better ODI side in recent years. “They have got many experienced players in the side who know their role and play according to the strategy. Their players know how to play under pressure and they no longer have problems playing against the big teams,” Dhawan explained.
