MS Dhoni has injured his thumb in nets practice

MS Dhoni has been hit on the thumb in nets practice and gone to hospital for an X-ray after an accident in the nets.

The Indian captain MS Dhoni set to play in his home town of Ranchi tomorrow, was struck on the thumb and has undergone treatment.

His absence from the third one-dayer with England would be a huge blow for the 31-year-old with his city set to stage its first-ever international.

The series is locked at 1-1 following India’s 127-run victory in Kochion Tuesday.
