India courtesy of a superior batting performance managed to beat England by 20 runs in their second and final warm-up match at Mirpur.

Put into bat first, India struggled at the start to find any momentum. Rohit Sharma departed in the 4th over pulling Dernbach to long leg, Shikhar Dhawan fell for 14 cutting Bresnan to covers and Yuvraj Singh in the 6th over, caught behind pulling Jordan across the line. India were going nowhere at 39 for 3 in 6 overs.

The Indians recovered nicely thanks to a strong partnership between Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina which took the score to 120 by the 15th over. Raina got out after a well paced 54 from 31 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Virat Kohli stayed the distance to finish on an unbeaten 74 from 48 balls with 8 fours. Skipper MS Dhoni chipped in with 21 not out from 14 balls with a four and a six.

England had a good start of 43 in the first overs before Alex Hales was clean bowled backing away to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The dangerous Michael Lumb was lured out of his crease and stumped out by a turning off break from Raina in the 9th over with England at 58 for 2. Lumb scored 36 from 25 balls.

India applied the brakes through its spinners and England were not gaining any momentum with Moeen Ali batting out many dot balls. Skipper Eoin Morgan heaved an Ashwin full toss to long on to reduce his team to 87 for 3 in 13. 1 overs.

Moeen Ali finally played few big shots but by then his team was out of the match because of the steep required rate. He eventually got out for 46 which came in 38 balls. Wicket Keeper Jos Buttler tried in vain to be a hero scoring an 18-ball 30. England finished with 158 for 6.
