JP Duminy’s heroics helped Delhi Daredevils prevail over Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling last over finish. Duminy struck an unbeaten 52 from 35 balls with three fours and three sixes to take his team to a 4-wicket win in Match 6 at Dubai. This was only the first win for Delhi Daredevils in eight matches!

Chasing 167, Delhi Daredevils were well on track despite losing three wickets including that of Ross Taylor inside 7 overs as they had 60 runs on the board. Skipper Dinesh Karthik and JP Duminy kept them in the contest with a crucial stand of 58 in 7.3 overs.

Dinesh Karthik scored 56 from 40 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes before he was lbw trying out a reverse sweep off Sunil Narine. Daredevils needed 49 more runs to win from 33 balls when Karthik was out. Duminy held his nerve to take them to the finishing line which included a last over sixer off a faster one from Piyush Chawla.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders had a dismal start losing openers Jacques Kallis and Skipper Gautam Gambhir for ducks. Manish Pandey along with Robin Uthappa revived the innings with a 64-run stand. Pandey scored 48 from 42 balls while Uthappa played one of his best knocks, scoring 55 from 41 balls with 6 fours and a six.

Shakib Al Hasan chipped in with a useful 30 not out from 22 balls to help KKR to 166 for 5.

Toss and Teams: Kolkata Knight Riders have won the toss and decided to bat first in Match 6 of IPL 7 at Dubai. For Delhi, Kevin Pietersen will continue to sit out because of a finger injury.
