According to a report in the Times of India, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has informed two members of the Cricket Advisory Committee -- Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman -- to consider the name of Ravi Shastri for the head coach’s interview process. Apparently, this was done prior to the team’s departure for the Champions Trophy.

The report further added that the three-member panel, which also includes Sourav Ganguly, will interview the candidates either on Thursday of Friday. They are most possibly, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Virender Sehwag and Anil Kumble.

"The interview process would start from either Thursday evening or Friday onwards. The CAC would meet the candidates individually and take the call later," the source added. Since Ravi Shastri has not applied for the job, he may not be interviewed, but could still end up getting the job.

Some reports even claim that a new Indian coach will be picked before the conclusion of the Champions Trophy, and would get a two-year contract until the 2019 World Cup.
