Brendon McCullum is moving close to registering his maiden Test triple century. New Zealand continued to frustrate India in their second innings with the tourists managing to take just the one wicket! The hosts have got a safe lead of 325 runs but with McCullum needing 19 more runs, declaration may be still sometime to go. India would be hoping that they don’t have to bat much long to save the game.

McCullum’s 281 not out has certainly ensured a series victory for the Kiwis even if this match ends in a draw. India’s only success in the day came when BJ Watling was dismissed in the final session to the third new ball. Watling scored his 3rd Test century, scoring 124 from 367 balls with 13 fours.

BJ Watling got out, lbw to a late inswinger from Mohammed Shami. The Wicket Keeper’s partnership with Brendon McCullum was worth 352 runs which is the new World Record for the 6th wicket.

By stumps, McCullum has hit 28 fours and 4 sixes while batting out 525 balls which is close to a full day’s play all on his own! James Neesham helped himself to an unbeaten 67 (from 96 balls with 9 fours) on his Test Debut.
