Misbah’s funny misfield

In an unintentionally hilarious moment, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, while fielding at mid-off, tried to stop the ball with his foot. He was unsuccessful, but then chased down the ball. When he got to the ball, he slid and got a hand to it, but when he got up to throw it, he lost his balance and fell down. A sporting Misbah as well as the Pakistani team had a hearty laugh over the incident, which occurred after Peter Handscomb played a straight drive off Mohammad Amir’s bowling.

Peter out hit wicket

Handscomb himself featured in the second bizarre incident of the day. Having completed his hundred, and reached 110, Handscomb was out hit-wicket to Wahab Riaz. While hit-wicket itself is a freak dismissal in itself, the manner in which Handscomb’s innings came to an end was a rarest of rare case. Handscomb was batting deep in his crease when he tried to late cut Riaz. He managed to get bat to ball, and even crossed over for a single. But, the leg bail was dislodged by then. After the initial confusion, replays showed that the bail came off as the Handscomb’s bat brushed against the leg stump.
