During the course of the Dubai Test against Australia, legendary Pakistan batsman Younis Khan became the seventh player from his country to register a century in each innings of a Test match. Here’s a detailed look at the list.

Hanif Mohammad: The great Pakistan opener made twin hundreds against England at the Dacca Stadium in Dhaka in January 1962. Mohammad made 114 in the first innings, batting for nearly 500 minutes and hitting 14 fours in the process. In the second innings of the Test, Mohammad again had a long vigil at the crease. He added 104 in 400 minutes with eight fours. The game ended in a draw.

Javed Miandad: One of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen, Miandad registered a hundred in each innings against New Zealand at Sind in November 1984. Miandad made 104 from 217 balls, hitting 12 fours, in Pakistan’s first innings. In the second essay, Miandad remained unbeaten on 103 from 198 balls, with 13 fours and one six. Thanks to Miandad’s brilliance, Pakistan chased down 227 with ease to win the Test by seven wickets.

Wajahatullah Wasti: The former Pakistan opener is the surprise name in the list. He made twin centuries in the third match of the Asian Test Championship played at Lahore in March 1999. Wasti hit 133 from 238 balls with 18 fours and 2 sixes in Pakistan’s first innings. In the second essay, he was unbeaten on 121 from 303 balls with 12 fours and one six, as the game was drawn.

Yasir Hameed: He achieved this feat during the Karachi Test against Bangladesh in August 2003. Hameed made 170 from 253 balls with 25 fours in the team’s first innings, and added 105 from 161 balls with 15 fours in the second innings. Pakistan chased down 217, winning by seven wickets.

Inzamam-ul-Haq: Hehad to be on this list. Haq made a century in each innings of a Test against England at Faisalabad in November 2005. Haq was run-out for 109 from 200 balls (13 fours) in the first innings, and made an unbeaten 100 from 134 balls (9 fours and one six) in the team’s second innings. The match was drawn as, chasing 285, England decided to play it safe.

Mohammad Yousuf: Another player whose name on the list should not surprise anyone. Yousuf made two hundreds in the Test against West Indies at Karachi in November 2006. Yousuf made 102 from 158 balls (15 fours) in the first innings, and 124 from 195 balls (again 15 fours) in the second innings. Chasing 444, West Indies were bowled out for 244.

Younis Khan: He is the latest to join the list. Younis made a doughty 106 from 233 balls (10 fours and one six) in the first innings of the Test against Australia at Dubai to help the team recover from a precarious position. In the second innings, he remained unbeaten on 103 from 152 balls with six fours and two sixes to put Pakistan in a commanding position.
