Hosts Sri Lanka picked up a massive 126-run victory over Bangladesh in the 3rd match of the Asia Cup played at Dambulla. Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka riding on a brisk opening start of 111 between Tillakaratne Dilshan (71 from 51 balls with 11 fours and a six) and Upul Tharanga (54) went onto pile up 312 for 4. Skipper Kumar Sangakkara chipped in with 52 while Angelo Mathews (42*) and Kapugedera (37*) took care of the finishing act to the innings.

The Bangladeshi batting was below par with the exception of left handed opener Tamim Iqbal who scored 51 from 53 balls and Junaid Siddique (38) to some extent. They were bundled out in 40.2 overs for 186 to concede a bonus point win for the homeside. Dilshan had an all-round day taking three wickets to go with his 71 early on. He was the Man of the Match for obvious reasons.
