Mumbai Indians finally tasted victory in the Champions League T20 2010 though it came against the low rated Guyana led by Ramnaresh Sarwan at Durban. Mumbai Indians were let off hook by a below par fielding and bowling performance from Guyana. After getting to 184 for 4, Mumbai Indians restricted Guyana to 153 for 6 to win the one-sided contest by 31 runs.

It was a scratchy start for the IPL team with Tendulkar struggling to get in terms with the relatively new bowlers. After plenty of lives gifted by the Guyanese, Temdulkar went onto score 48 from 39 balls before getting stumped out by an ordinary leggie who was bowling a long hop every alternate delivery. Mumbai Indians just managed to get enough runs on the board thanks to the fireworks shown by Kieron Pollard who took the Guyanese bowling attack for as many as nine sixes in a whirlwind 72* from 30 balls! Guyana were terrible with both the catching and the ground fielding.

There was a better batting performance from Guyana though and they finished with a respectable 153 for 6 with Ramnaresh Sarwan top scoring with 46 from 38 balls. Harbhajan Singh picked up two vital wickets for Mumbai Indians to ensure that there was no upset. There was only one man who could get the Man of the Match and that was Pollard.
