Most of an earlier three-Test series was disrupted by rain and ended in a 0-0 draw.

The first match of the limited-overs series was to scheduled be played later Thursday at the Sooriyawewa stadium, still under construction for next year's World Cup. However the series has been shrouded in doubt as team officials discussed late into Wednesday night whether to postpone the series.
