India achieved the target of 270 with 11 balls to spare after Rohit Sharma ramained unbeaten on 90 while Virat Kohli made 117.

Rampaul cracked 86 not out, the highest score by a number 10 batsman in one-dayers, to help the tourists post a challenging 269-9 in the day-night match in Visakhapatnam.

India were struggling at 84-3 before passing their opponents' total with 11 balls to spare for a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, with Kohli hitting 14 fours in a 123-ball knock for his eighth one-day hundred.

Kohli received valuable support from Rohit Sharma, who scored a solid 90 not out for a second successive half-century. The pair put on 163 for the fourth wicket to shape India's 11th successive one-day win at home.

India have crossed 150; to be exact, they are 152 for 3 after 30 overs. So 118 needed in another 120 legitimate deliveries with seven wickets in hand. The partnership meanwhile between Rohit and Kohli has reached 68.

Rampaul, a left-handed batsman and right-arm paceman, and Roach returned to trouble India with the ball as they removed Gautam Gambhir and Parthiv Patel to reduce the hosts to 29-2 before rain stopped play for nearly 40 minutes.

West Indies fast bowler Ravi Rampaul's fierce counterattack bailed the visitors out of deep trouble and helped them post a challenging 269 for nine against India in the second One-day International (ODI) here Friday.

Rampaul, coming in at No.10 when West Indies were struggling at 170/9 in 36 overs, smashed an unbeaten 86 off 66 balls. His 99-run stand with Kemar Roach staged a remarkable fightback for the West Indies at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium.

Rampaul single-handedly stole the show towards the end and got good support from Roach, who chipped in with 24 off 36 balls. It was the highest score by a No.10 batsman in an ODI.

Before that, opener Lendl Simmons (78) guided West Indies, who lost half their side for 63 runs after India put them in overcast conditions which led to a 15-minute delay in the start of the match.

India won the toss and chose to field against the West Indies in the second One-Day International at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here Friday.

India picked the same playing eleven that played in the Cuttack game while the West Indies brought in Ravi Rampaul for Anthony Martin.

The start of the match was delayed by 15 minutes because of light showers.
