Dwayne Bravo hit Shahid Afridi for a six as the West Indies beat Pakistan in the fourth One-Day International in Barbados by one run on the Duckworth/Lewis method.
With his side chasing a revised target and level with the par score heading into the 30th over and rain coming down, Bravo hit the third ball over midwicket, and, knowing that his side were then ahead, he blocked the remaining two balls that were possible.
The umpires then took the players from the field and as no further play was possible, the West Indies, who closed on 154 for four in reply to Pakistan's 248 for nine, were declared the winners.
Lendl Simmons had played the key role in the run chase by hitting 76 in 70 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes before the wickets of Darren Bravo (21) and Ramnaresh Sarwan (28) left the match in the balance.
Kirk Edwards, opening the batting, fell for a golden duck early on but after Simmons fell to Tanvir Ahmed, Marlon Samuels made an unbeaten eight and the elder Bravo an unbeaten 11 in 15 balls to reduce the series deficit to 3-1 with a match to play.
The drama unfolded after Pakistan had first set up an excellent total and then collapsed dramatically with only Mohammed Hafeez, who stroked 121, and Asad Shafiq (71) passing 18.
Hafeez was in good touch, hitting seven fours and three sixes while Shafiq hit four fours in 102 balls but the West Indies bowled themselves back into the contest as Devendra Bishoo returned three for 37 as both Kemar Roach and Dwayne Bravo returned two wickets.
Ahmed Shehzad (6), Shahid Afridi (8), Misbah-ul-Haq (5), Hammad Azam (1), Usman Salahuddin (5) and Mohammad Salman (0) all came and went cheaply as six wickets fell for 34 runs.
In the end, the lack of contributions from the middle order cost Pakistan dear as the West Indies won their first match in four.
The fifth and final match of the series is on 5th May in Providence.
