Mumbai restrict Tamil Nadu to 250 for 6

News and Score Update of Mumbai Vs Tamil Nadu, Day 1, 2nd Semi-Final at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

Tamil Nadu have recovered from a trick position of 107 for 4 to reach 250 for 6 by Stumps on Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy Semi-Final match against Mumbai today at the Wankhede Stadium. The visitors had a mini collapse losing three wickets for no runs in the space of six balls. Middle order batsman Ramaswamy Prasanna came to the rescue of Tamil Nadu with an unbeaten 81 from 177 balls with a dozen boundaries.

Prasanna is into a crucial stand of 111 runs for the unbroken 7th wicket with all-rounder Yo Mahesh who is on a patient 34 (from 142 balls). Opener Murali Vijay (with 47) and S Badrinath (with 56) got off to starts but failed to convert them into bigger scores. This was after Mumbai had won the toss and elected to field first.

The most successful bowler for Mumbai on the opening day’s play was the 24-year-old medium pace Balwinder Sandhu who took four wickets. His new ball partner Dhawal Kulkarni got two wickets.
