Delhi Daredevils clinched a much needed victory over Kings XI Punjab at their home ground at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. Asked to bat first, Daredevils powered by a rapid opening start of 146 inside 12 overs from Skipper Virender Sehwag who made 77 from 35 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes and David Warner who got 77 from 48 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes which helped the hosts to 231 for 4.
Kings XI Punjab put up an excellent show in reply getting to their 100 in about 10 overs with Gilchrist leading the way with 42 from 33 balls. Shaun Marsh kept the momentum going almost till the end but the task ahead of him was a monumental one and his brilliant 95 from 46 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes was going to be in vain. Kings XI Punjab settled for an impressive 202 for 6 going down fighting by 29 runs. David Warner got the Man of the Match.
