Islamabad: Pakistani batsman Mohammad Yousuf has been fined 15,000 rupees for wearing wrong coloured pads during the country's top domestic one-day tournament.

Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman Nadeem Sarwar says match referee Ilyas Khan also banned Yousuf for two one-dayers in domestic cricket.

Sarwar says Yousuf was twice warned by Ilyas to wear the proper orange-colored pads while batting for the Lahore Lions in the National One-day Tournament. However, the batsman chose to wear green colored pads in all four matches.

Yousuf — who was ignored by selectors for next month's World Cup — made scores of 61, 81, 74 and 10 in four innings but could not guide his team to the semi-finals.
