Pakistan's cricket coach WaqarYounis has appealed to former greats JavedMiandad and WasimAkram to come forward and help the young cricketers as the national team gears up for a hectic season ahead.

"They (Miandad and Akram) are great players and any time a youngster spends with them is quality time. I would love to see them come and assist us in the camps," Waqar said.

Insisting that the next six months were important for Pakistan cricket, the former Test captain who arrived from Australia late yesterday night, said, "We have a very hectic and tough schedule ahead of us for the next six months and our performances will decide where we stand in the world rankings."

The fast bowler had to delay his arrival by around three weeks because of domestic commitments in Sydney where he is now settled.

Waqar has missed the first phase of the fast track camp, organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for fast bowlers and batsmen.

The camp was supervised by former Test pacer SarfarazNawaz and chief selector Mohsin Khan.

"It is a good thing the board is organising such camps as number of youngsters have come to the fore. Definitely as we have a hectic schedule over the next six months we will try to give these new players a chance as well," Waqar said.

Waqar admitted that he had been out of touch with Pakistan cricket since the team's return from the West Indies in June but said that now his complete focus is on the game.

"But now my entire focus is on cricket and the assignments coming up in every format of the sport," he said.
